Ben Nye Neutralizer Creme Crayon

I blame it on the sun, stress and/or age. I've got a couple of dark spots on my face known as Melasma and they drive me crazy!! They were impossible to cover until I found this blessing in a stick. It's a concealer in a pencil from by Ben Nye. I use the NP-4 Medium/Tattoo cover color. I apply it after my moisturizer and set it with a no-color powder. I follow it by my favorite bronzer and Voila! magically the spots have disappeared. You can find it at most specialty film/theatrical supply stores such as:

This has to be my personal favorite! I'm frequently asked what I use to achieve my glowing face. Besides the 150% humidity in Miami, I love to add a nice youthful glow with this product. I use it as part of my daily routine. I first use concealer on the dark spots on my face, I set it with no-color powder and then use this bronzer on the apple of my cheeks, my chin and underneath my jawline. It adds a wonderful bronzy highlight for a more youthful looking skin. Who doesn't benefit from that at our age? ; )

Treating Talent

I was once asked by a fellow MU artist why I got so much work and she didn't.....I was not frank with her when I told her I did not know......I should've told her the truth, that perhaps it was because of how rude she always was with the talent that sat in her chair. I have always taken pride in the fact that I respect what the actor/model is doing. I am the first person they deal with in production in the morning. My attitude towards them sets the mood for their whole day. I respect their job. They have to not only look good, but also act like if they feel good. The majority of people are very nervous, regardless of how much experience they have. I feel part of my job is to make them as comfortable as possible. You get what you give!!

The BEST Waterproof Mascara

Why is it that when we find a make-up product we looooove, the company manufacturing it decides to discontinue it? I thought my endless quest for a great, affordable water-proof mascara had ended when I found Maybelline's Lash Stylist Waterproof mascara in Black until around 2 months ago, I could not find it anywhere.....I thought, hmmmm.......perhaps all the people I've made up and recommended it to have told their friends and family and they've told their friends and family and in all of Miami they can't keep it in stock.....turns out it's not so. THEY DISCONTINUED IT!!!!!!!!

One of the easiest ways to look young and fresh is to incorporate blush into your daily make-up routine. I find that the majority of women shy away from this most useful step in their makeup application. The best way to apply it is to smile and apply with a medium natural bristle brush to the apple of your cheeks. Voila!

One of my new favorites is this bronzing powder in Warm Tan. It gives you a healthy glow just as stated and you cannot beat the price, $1.00!!!! One of my most knowledgeable clients gave it to me to try and I looooooove it! Just having a hard time finding it locally and I really don't want to order it online. Any suggestions? 

Beauty Is Not Skin Deep

It's funny the business I'm in, where beauty is so celebrated and chased, where your worth is usually measured based on your looks, and where the chase for the fountain of youth usually ends in a crash against the wall. I don't envy these beautiful women who put all their self-worth in the fragile basket of physical beauty. I've always wondered if some of these women knew how much their beauty would increase on the outside if they were beautiful in the inside as well. Would they take care of the inside as much as they do the outside? Work on the inside girls! That's where the fountain of youth really exists!
